Our Story

Did you ever notice how the most beautiful products in the world come from just one place: Northern Italy. Ferrari, La Marzocco , Giorgetti, Prada, Boffi. The area between Venice and Milan is basically the Silicon Valley of luxury manufacturing, with generations of master craftsmen concentrated in a small area. The Reason Why Italy dominates luxury comes down to one thing: artigianato — the deep tradition of handcraft passed down through generations in specific regions.

I traveled to these areas looking for the the best stone surfaces in the world. And I found they were being made in near Venice with technology that didn't exist in the United States. I wanted to change that. I traveled to Italy, studied what the world's top manufacturers were doing, and made a decision: we were going to bring that technology home and manufacture a product that architects, fabricators, and designers in America had never had access to before. Today, after investing $70 million:

Italic is the result. You can now get Italian engineering, American manufacturing and USA-level service: this is a product line built for homes and businesses that don't accept second-best.
