Statuario
Ultra clear and subtle veining
Inspired by statuario marble, a rare variety of white marble, quarried mainly from quarries in the Apuan Alps near Carrara. Famous for its ultra clear and subtle grey veining, it has been used since antiquity for fine sculpture and architecture. This marble was particularly prized by Renaissance artists such as Michelangelo, who considered it the ideal material for sculpture due to its compactness, polishability and nobility. Still today, Statuario marble is a symbol of elegance and refinement, used in design, art and luxury furniture projects around the world.
